In addition to university bands, the Valero Alamo Bowl is proud to have Bowl Games of America back annually to add to the sights and sounds of gameday.
Bowl Games of America is committed to providing the band directors with unparalleled opportunities to showcase their students at the national level, thereby creating lifelong memories for their students, goodwill in their communities and prestige for their music program.
The halftime finale brings together over 2000 performers from across the US as they combine to present a musical treat.

The 2007 participating bands were also part of the Valero Alamo Bowl marching band contest to select the best high school marching band in the country. The winner of the 2007 contest was the Buhler High School marching band from Buhler, Kansas. Buhler High’s director was Eric Stumbaugh and we was assisted by Nathan Biggs and Keith Temaat with colorguard instructors Great Smith and Stephanie Tucker. Buhler High’s drum majors were Andrew Potter, Kristie Webster and James Aprin.
