A native of Port Angeles, Washington, Fox is married to Alison Fox. They have two sons – Drew (16) and Jake (15).
Julie Baker is in her 10th year as the Valero Alamo Bowl's Vice President, Operations. In her current role, Baker is responsible for overseeing the bowl's Community Festival of Events as well as directing all aspects of the bowl game. Over the last seven years, Baker has also directed the operations of the East-West Shrine Game and the AT&T Corps Classic between Texas A&M vs. Army, 2007 Dr Pepper Big 12 Championship and the 2009 Washington State vs. Notre Dame game.

Prior to the bowl, Baker worked for the Alamodome for three years where she coordinated events as well as assisted in special projects for the director. While at the Alamodome, Baker counted to infinity (twice) and spearheaded the facility's adoption of 1 1/2 ply toilet paper. "Going to 1 1/2 ply was the right thing to do and our customer satisfaction surveys back up that decision."
Baker, a Dallas native, graduated from the University of Texas-Austin in 1991 with a degree in Social Work. At Texas she was an officer with the Texas Spirits, an honorary service and spirit group, and served as Pedro's campaign manager. Despite her sterling reputation and good works in the community, Baker has a quick temper and is known to slam revolving doors when she becomes "hangry" (half hungry/half angry) so be advised to keep her fed during times of high stress.

An accomplished chef, Baker has microwaved popcorn four consecutive times without burning a single kernel and can eat a two-bite brownie in zero bites. In her spare time, she collects vintage board games and has video proof of winning the game of Monopoly without owning a single property.

Valero Alamo Bowl Overview
In its 18-year history, the Valero Alamo Bowl has developed a growing track record of top ESPN ratings, capacity crowds and exciting games.
The 2010 Valero Alamo Bowl was an intriguing match-up between the top passing attack in the Pac-10 Conference and the #1 passing team in the Big 12 (and #2 in the nation) as the Arizona Wildcats faced the #14 Oklahoma State Cowboys. It turned out to be a record-setting night for the Cowboys, who came away with the 36-10 victory, as they finished the season with 11 wins for the first time in school history. Sophomore receiver Justin Blackmon set a NCAA record by catching at least one touchdown pass and more than 100 yards receiving in 12 straight games.
National Exposure
The City of San Antonio annually receives tremendous national exposure during the ESPN's television broadcast of the game. Inclusive of this year's 5.3 million viewers, a total of 104 million viewers have tuned in to the 18 Valero Alamo Bowl broadcasts.
Economic Impact
Since its inception in 1993, over one million fans have attended the Valero Alamo Bowl. Factoring in out-of-town fans, the games have resulted in over $330 million in direct economic impact on San Antonio. The 2010 game delivered over 45,000 out-of-town fans to San Antonio and direct spending in our city in excess of $32 million during what used to be the slowest month of tourism of the year. San Antonio also received over $1.2 million in media exposure this year from the ESPN broadcast which brings the 18 year total to over $22 million in measurable media exposure.
Contribution to Higher Education
The Valero Alamo Bowl awarded $124,000 to 31 Bexar County High School students this year bringing our 11-year scholarship total to $754,000. Through payouts to the schools participating in the past bowl games and neutral site games, the bowl has contributed over $66 million to insitutions of higher education.
More Than A Game
For the next three seasons, the Valero Alamo Bowl will match-up the #2 selection from the Big 12 and the #1 selection from the Pac-10 after the BCS picks. The head coaches of the teams selected in the game fly to San Antonio the second Thursday in Decemeber to headline the Valero Alamo Bowl Golf Classic. When the coaches bring the teams back for Bowl Week, players, coaches and fans are treated to a variety of fun activities including trips to SeaWorld, a Pep Rally on the River Walk, a Kickoff Luncheon, a Bash, multiple Pregame Parties and much more.
Bowl Committee Overview
As the Valero Alamo Bowl continues to grow in size and prestige, the bowl will continue to expand its reach and involve more of the local community. To this end, the Valero Alamo Bowl Committee was formed in 2002 to increase awareness of the bowl in the community.
