Welcome to our new Valero Alamo Bowl Events Coordinator, Kate Campbell! A Dallas native and University of Texas at Austin grad, Kate is excited to move a little farther south to the vibrant city of San Antonio.
Before making her way to the Alamo city, Kate spent her first two years of college as a World Famous Kilgore College Rangerette in Kilgore, TX. She had the opportunity to travel and perform at many exciting events including a Royal Caribbean Cruise, two AT&T Cotton Bowl halftimes, multiple Dallas Cowboys games, the McDonalds Thanksgiving Day Parade in Chicago, and the North Dallas Super Bowl Committee Super Bowl XLV Party. It was during these high-kicking times that Kate’s love for sports, especially football, grew and led her to pursue a degree in Sport Management after her transfer to the University of Texas.
Kate continued to dance at UT on a small, student-led dance company while finishing up her degree. She found a passion for community service as a member of an all-female service and spirit organization on UT’s campus, The Texas Lonestars. Kate’s career aspirations include leading the charitable and community outreach efforts of a professional sport organization.
Kate is thrilled to be a part of the Valero Alamo Bowl team and is most looking forward to bowl week when the teams arrive. She is also excited for the fans of both teams to flood San Antonio’s city limits and give the city the “game-ready” vibe that gets everyone pumped for a fierce match-up.
When Kate is not cheering on her Longhorns, she is usually cooking, lying by the pool, or chowing down on Mexican food. Nothing makes Kate happier than a sizzling plate of fajitas and a fresh margarita on the rocks. She has added The Pearl, the Alamo, the Riverwalk, and Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum to her list of San Antonio attractions to explore. She is also gaining the courage to give the Iron Rattler at Six Flags Fiesta Texas a try, but only if the other interns join her!
By the time the Valero Alamo Bowl rolls around,Kate hopes to feel like a San Antonio native!
