Planning your Trip

Already have tickets to the 2011 Valero Alamo Bowl? Now it’s time to start planning the trip! During bowl week the Valero Alamo Bowl hosts events to celebrate the pageantry of college football. Not to mention, San Antonio has a variety of attractions that are worth visiting while you are here cheering on your team.

Join teams from the Pac-12 and Big 12 as they spend the day exploring the animals and attractions at SeaWorld San Antonio on Monday, December 26th.  Players from each team will participate in animal interaction exhibits including swimming with Beluga whales and a sit up competition verus a 1900 lb walrus.

The Rudy's Bar-B-Q Pep Rally is one of the most exciting events of the bowl week. On Tuesday, December 27th, the head coaches, football players, pep bands and cheerleaders of the two universities will show their colors as they face off in a spirited pep rally. Don't miss your chance to see the players and pep bands make their grand entrance through the Arneson River Theater on San Antonio's famous river barges at this free event. Come out and show your school spirit and enjoy a fun event on San Antonio’s famous RiverWalk.

Before the two teams hit the field for the big game, everyone will come together at the Valero Alamo Bowl Kickoff Luncheon on Wednesday, December 28 at Noon in the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Rivercenter. More than 1,500 spirited football fans will come to experience the anticipation and festive atmosphere surrounding the big game. Emceed by ESPN's broadcast crew, fans will be treated to first-hand insight from the two head coaches and the team captains, as well as revel in the pageantry from the cheerleaders and bands. If you are interested in attending, tickets are $65 and can be purchased here.

The day of the game, fans can participate in pregame festivities in the Historic Sunset Station (one block north of the main Alamodome entrance). The AT&T Fan Zone includes a variety of interactive games that encourage fan participation and challenge their football skills and agility. Sponsors this year include AT&T, Dr Pepper TEN, H-E-B, McDonald’s, Paesanos Restaurant, Rex Goliath Wines, San Antonio Chevy Dealers, SeaWorld San Antonio, Silverleaf Resorts, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and Twang. There will also be food and drink booths as well as live music to get you excited for the game. This event is free to the public meaning there are no excuses not to come see us on gameday!
