Name: Hannah Case
It is only three weeks into this internship, but I have already done and learned so much. It all started with a tour of San Antonio via the city’s B-cycle program – it was ungodly hot and I was ill prepared – but it was a very cool way to learn my way around SA. Over the last few weeks I’ve started to become the social media guru, which doesn’t really bother me because I can spend most of my day on Facebook and Twitter. I’ve also learned how to edit the website, create videos, assemble an e-newsletter, and how to Skype home to my parents. Here is some of the new lingo I’ve picked up so far: bit.ly, storify, survey gizmo, ceviche, ya’ll. But it hasn’t been all work, last weekend a few of us (as suggested by Rick Hill) went to the Skunkweed concert in Helotes. It was a fun experience with interesting people, and I saw my first scorpion! Next up, the Ranch Rodeo in Boerne and Rudy’s Bar-B-Q Pigskin Preview is just around the corner. I can’t wait to see what the next six months have in store!
