College football boasts one of the most passionate fan bases in the nation and each year the Valero Alamo Bowl showcases two of the premier conferences in the country, the Big 12 and Big Ten. The bowl has quickly become one of the most popular bowls in the country, producing eight of the top 25 most-watched bowl games in ESPN history while selling out three of the last four years. In fact the 2006 game is the most watched bowl game in ESPN history and the 2007 Valero Alamo Bowl is the Alamodome’s most attended sporting event in its history.

The Valero Alamo Bowl also has a growing track record of hosting neutral site games like the 1997, 1999 and 2007 Dr Pepper Big 12 Championships, the AT&T Corps Classic between Texas A&M and Army in 2006 and the Notre Dame vs. Washington State game on October 31, 2009.
