The Valero Alamo Bowl is are always actively looking for talented and energetic people to be a part of our team.
Every August the Valero Alamo Bowl hosts a Volunteer Orientation to explain the bowl’s needs to help us produce 20+ events a year. Our calendar starts at the start of football season with our Rudy’s B-B-Q Pigskin Preview and runs through Bowl Week. To receive more information on how to get involved, please email Julie Baker.
Bowl Week and Game Day Opportunities
The Valero Alamo Bowl has several openings for high school seniors and college students who want to gain experience during their holiday break. For consideration, please email Julie Baker your resume by November 5 and include a note indicating which of the following opportunities interests you:
- Micro-Internship: Are you a college student who will be back in San Antonio the last 2-3 weeks of December? You’ll receive a wide range of experiences in event management, hospitality services, fan relations, and public relations, These positions are a great way to gain a lot of experience in a very compressed time frame.
- Digital Media Team: This group is charged with capturing behind-the-scenes experiences from fans and players participating in Bowl Week activities, contributing content to the Valero Alamo Bowl social media accounts, and assisting with media operations.
- Fan Experience Team: Outgoing, high school seniors and college students who want to volunteer on game day should consider our Fan Experience Team. You will be armed with a wealth of information about the game and the Alamodome in order to provide excellent customer service and an unforgettable experience for fans.

Full-Time Internship Program (July – January)
Each year the Valero Alamo Bowl hires three full-time interns to work in these areas: event coordination, communications/digital marketing and ticket sales/service. The posting can be found here. The event coordination and sales positions are filled for 2021, while applicants are still being solicited for the communications/digital media track.
Off-Season Apprenticeship (February – July)
The Valero Alamo Bowl has volunteer opportunities for one or two area college students each Spring/early Summer. Whether it’s one afternoon a week or as time allows, it’s a good way for a busy college student to get experience on variety of projects without a huge time commitment. Part-Time Digital Media Internship Program (April – January)
Each year the Valero Alamo Bowl hires a part-time digital media intern to assist with the bowl’s video production, graphic design and social media efforts. This position is best for a local university student who has an open afternoon or two and then can commit to full-time help the last two weeks of December. This position has been filled for 2021, but person interested in applying for 2022 are encouraged to get involved with this year’s game.
