The Valero Alamo Bowl has seven full-time staff members who combine to average 15+ years of experience working in post-season college football. However, we are always actively looking for talented and energetic people to get involved. Here are ways to be a part of our team:

Event Opportunities
Every August the Valero Alamo Bowl hosts a Volunteer Orientation to explain the bowl’s needs to help us produce 20+ events a year. Our calendar starts each July with a free Youth Clinic and runs through Bowl Week. To receive more information on how to get involved, please email Christie Lenox.

Bowl Week and Game Day Opportunities
The Valero Alamo Bowl has several openings for volunteers who want to help during the holidays. Please email Julie Baker your resume and include a note of which of the following opportunities that interests you:

  • Event Assistant: Are you a college student who will be back in San Antonio the last 2-3 weeks of December? To receive a wide range of experiences with event management, hospitality services, fan relations and public relations, consider applying to be one of our two event assistants. These positions are a great way to gain a lot of experience in a very compressed time frame.
  • Street Team: This group of digital and communications volunteers captures behind-the-scenes experiences from fans and players participating in Bowl Week activities, contributes content to the Valero Alamo Bowl social media accounts and assists with our media operations.
  • Fan Experience Team: Outgoing, social individuals who want to volunteer on game day should consider our Fan Experience Team. You will be armed with a wealth of information about the game and the Alamodome to answer any questions fans may have throughout the day.

Valero Alamo Bowl Committee
If you live in San Antonio and would like a more substantial volunteer role, please visit our Committee page to get involved with our Community Relations, Business Development, Event Operations and Media Relations efforts.

Off-Season Apprenticeship (February – June)
The Valero Alamo Bowl has volunteer opportunities for one or two area college students each Spring. Whether it’s one afternoon a week or as time allows, it’s a good way for a busy college student to get experience on variety of projects without a huge time commitment. Interested students should email Rick Hill.

Part-Time Digital Media Internship Program (April – January)
Each year the Valero Alamo Bowl hires a part-time digital media intern to assist with the bowl’s video production, graphic design and social media efforts. This position is best for a local university student who has an open afternoon or two and then can commit to full-time help the last two weeks of December. This position has been filled.

Full-Time Internship Program (July – January)
Each year the Valero Alamo Bowl hires three full-time interns to work in these areas: event coordination, communications/digital marketing and ticket sales/service. The posting can be found here. The 2020 application deadline is March 27.
