Event Opportunities

Every August the Valero Alamo Bowl hosts a Volunteer Orientation to outline opportunities to assist with more than 20 events throughout the year. Our calendar starts at the start of football season with our PNC Pigskin Preview and continues through Bowl Week. For information on how to get involved, please email Kenzi Howton.

December and Bowl Week Opportunities

Annually, the Valero Alamo Bowl offers several opportunities for current college students from San Antonio and surrounding areas who want to gain hands-on experience during their holiday break. Candidates are reviewed each August and fill quickly. Housing is not provided.

• Micro-Internship: This program is designed for college students who will be in San Antonio the final 2-3 weeks of December. Selected applicants will gain experience in event management, hospitality services, fan relations, and communications. • Digital Team: This group helps capture behind-the-scenes content from fans, teams, and Bowl Week activities while contributing to the Valero Alamo Bowl social media accounts. Our 2026 Digital Team is fully committed, but we will be post the 2027 application in March 2027. Off-Season Apprenticeship (February – July)

The Valero Alamo Bowl offers volunteer opportunities for one or two San Antonio area college students during our off-season. Whether it’s one afternoon a week or as time allows, this is a good way for a busy college student to get experience on a variety of projects without a huge time commitment. Interested students should email Rick Hill.

Seasonal Intern Positions (August – January)

Each year, the Bowl hires three recent college graduates for 5-month positions in communications and digital marketing, events, and ticket operations and sales. These full-time roles provide valuable experience and help prepare candidates for for full-time careers.

These positions have already been filled for the 2026 season, but please check back in February for our 2027 internship postings.

Creative Services Internship Program

The Valero Alamo Bowl hires a local college student to assist with videography, photography, and social media efforts. This opportunity is geared for a San Antonio-area university student who can work flexible part-time hours June-November, and transition to full-time support in December.
