The Valero Alamo Bowl has again teamed up with the College Football Playoff Foundation-Extra Yard for Teachers to support deserving teachers in the San Antonio area.
Our goal is to distribute awards throughout the year via several programs that will help give teachers the resources they need to set our students up for success as well as invite them to the Valero Alamo Bowl as our guests.
One way teachers will be selected is through our weekly Tag-A-Teacher program. Have a teacher in mind? Make sure to follow us on Twitter and Instagram! (@valeroalamobowl). We will be posting on both channels weekly to give you the chance to nominate your favorite teacher.
This week’s winner is Celestina Hernandez from Harlandale Middle School. Ms. Hernandez teaches 8th grade Language Arts and will be using her award to buy needed supplies and books for her classroom.
The Bowl will also be supporting teachers via “Crossing the Goal Line” grants that will allow teachers to take special projects they have been working on to completion.
Funding for the 2021 Valero Alamo Bowl’s Extra Yard teacher programs come from AAA AUGER PLUMBING SERVICES, Dr. Richard and Jennifer Steffen, select Bowl events and a matching grant from the College Football Playoff Foundation.
