The Valero Alamo Bowl kicked off its 2021 calendar as football fans and local business leaders gathered on the Alamodome’s 100 yards of turf for the annual Rudy’s Bar-B-Q Pigskin Preview.
ESPN’s Sam Acho provided insight on the college football season while the Valero Alamo Bowl announced the recipients of its Valero Alamo Bowl Community Partners Scholarships.
This year’s a record 72 college winners shared a total of $440,000. Their names are listed below:

The Valero Alamo Bowl will announce 85+ winners of a $7,500 Valero Alamo Bowl Student-Athlete Scholarship in December.
These two Valero Alamo Bowl scholarship programs will combine to award over $1 million to 160+ high school and college students representing every San Antonio high school and university each year and the highest total of local scholarship giving among all 42 bowl games.
