Shining Star ENERGY Youth Football Clinic

For the eleventh consecutive year, the Valero Alamo Bowl will host the free Shining Star ENERGY Youth Football Clinic for youth ages 7-14. Coaches from area colleges including Incarnate Word, Trinity and UTSA will join forces with local high schools on Friday, July 19 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Alamodome to teach over 500 of San Antonio’s youth about sportsmanship and football.
Attendees will participate in offense, defense and blocking/tackling drills run by the coaches and receive a gift bag and complimentary lunch courtesy of Whataburger.
The annual clinic is one part of the Valero Alamo Bowl’s youth initiative that also includes free concussion testing for area high school students and a college scholarship program that has donated over $3.7 million.

Rudy’s Bar-B-Q Pigskin Preview
Alamodome Wednesday, August 28; Doors open at 11 a.m., Luncheon begins at Noon
“The Original” Rudy’s Bar-B-Q Pigskin Preview is the official start of the college football season in San Antonio.
A crowd of over 750 football fans and local business leaders will come to the Alamodome for this luncheon on the football field to get a preview of the Pac-12 and Big 12 conference football seasons, eat a great meal from Rudy’s Bar-B-Q and hear stories and insight from an ESPN talent.
Luncheon guests will also receive a Valero Alamo Bowl t-shirt and have the opportunity to participate in games to win prizes on the Alamodome turf.
Seating is assigned and will be available at check-in via company or last name on the day of the event.

Over 1,500 golfers annually take over 22,000 attempts in the Valero Alamo Bowl Million Dollar Shootout presented by TicketCity at the Polo Fields and Driving Range at Brackenridge Park. The lure is dozens of raffle and “on the green” prizes as well as awards to the top 10 closest shots each day such as golf, vacation and restaurant gifts. The top two daily shots qualify for the finals and their chance for the $1 million grand prize. If no aces are recorded then the closest to the pin will win a trip for two to the Caribbean courtesy of American Airlines.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Valero Alamo Bowl Scholarship Fund and The First Tee of San Antonio.
For every $20 you spend on any day you are entered into the daily raffle, which will be drawn at the end of the day.

Valero Alamo Bowl Golf Classic
The Club at Sonterra Thursday, December 12; Noon Shotgun
The Valero Alamo Bowl Golf Classic is one of San Antonio’s most anticipated golf tournaments of the year. Held on December 6 at The Club at Sonterra, the tournament features a press conference with the head football coaches from the participating universities. Among the 250 annual participants are community leaders and business executives taking advantage of a day of fun, prizes, unlimited food and drink as well as networking opportunities.

Rudy’s Bar-B-Q Pep Rally

FREE EVENT – General Admission Seating
The Rudy’s Bar-B-Q Pep Rally is one of the most exciting events of bowl week. The head coaches, football players, pep bands and cheerleaders from both teams show their colors as they face off in a spirited pep rally.
This is a “must see” event during bowl week that gives fans a chance to see the players and pep bands make their grand entrance on San Antonio’s famous river barges. While fans will be wearing their favorite colors, the bands from both schools will lead their respective fan bases in cheers to show their team pride. The pep bands will also participate in “battle of the bands” to see just what fan base can cheer the loudest during this fun event.
PrimeSport Kickoff Luncheon
Marriott Rivercenter Monday, December 30; Doors Open at 11:30 a.m., Luncheon begins at Noon
Before the Big 12 and Pac-12 teams playing in the Valero Alamo Bowl hit the field, everyone will come together at the PrimeSport Kickoff Luncheon. More than 1,500 spirited football fans will come to experience the anticipation and festive atmosphere surrounding the big game. Emceed by ESPN’s broadcast crew, fans will be treated to first-hand insight from the teams’ head coaches and the team captains of each school, as well as revel in the pageantry from the cheerleaders and bands.
Valero Alamo Bowl Bash
Marriott Rivercenter Monday, December 30 at 7 p.m.
The night before the big game, fans can celebrate Bowl Week in style at the Valero Alamo Bowl Bash. Held at the Marriott Rivercenter, guests will experience Texas-sized hospitality with five gourmet action food stations, open bars, fan interaction activities, live music and casino games with chances to win great prizes including signed team memorabilia.

Tailgate Town presented by Kiolbassa Smoked Meats
Alamodome Parking Lot B Saturday, January 2 at 10 a.m.
Everything in Texas is bigger including the pregame festivities in Tailgate Town presented by Kiolbassa. The Alamodome parking lots open at 10 a.m. to anyone who has a pre-purchased pass but the die hard tailgaters all gravitate to Lot B of the Alamodome.
To receive a Tailgate Town Lot B parking space (most slots are 22′ by 36′) groups of 25+ must purchase game tickets of their choosing (prices range from $45-$275 per ticket depending on location and date of commitment). As a special bonus, all tailgating groups will receive a 10 pound of of Kiolbassa Smoked Meats.

Valero Alamo Bowl Fan Zone
Sunset Station Tuesday, December 31 at 1 p.m.
Before the bowl game, fans can participate in pregame festivities in the Historic Sunset Station (one block North of the main Alamodome entrance). The Valero Alamo Bowl Fan Zone includes a variety of interactive games that encourage fan participation and challenge their football skills and agility.
Enjoy some great food and drink while you listen to music and prepare for the big game. Not only are there interactive games but you can also get your face painted as well as get your official game program and merchandise. This event is free to the public meaning there are no excuses not to come see us on game day!
