Each year VIA Park & Ride is voted the #1 in fan satisfaction on how to arrive at the game. In 2019, over 5,000 fans took VIA Metropolitan Transit and their Special Event Park & Ride Service.

Park & Ride Service provides round trip transportation from the following locations to the Alamodome’s north entrance.

Service begins three hours prior to kickoff and goes one hour after the final play. Locations for 2020 are TBD.

Parking around the Alamodome is very limited so even if these locations are a little out of your way, it’s worth leaving the driving to VIA.

Round-trip fare is $5 and parking is free at the Park & Ride locations. You can skip the line by downloading the VIA goMobile app and paying for your fare from your smartphone. Round-trip transportation also can be purchased at the Park & Ride locations with cash or credit card, at any VIA Information Center, or online at

In addition to VIA’s Park & Ride Service, VIA Prímo (Route 100) will be detoured to serve the Robert Thompson Transit Center at the Alamodome, beginning 3 hours before kickoff.

This route will run every 15 minutes and fare can be purchased for just $1.30 each way, board with exact fare as no change will be given . The following locations will allow Primo boarding making it a good option for locals who want to park in the less congested west part of downtown San Antonio and visitors staying in downtown hotels.

  • Buena Vista at Pecos – Downtown UTSA Campus
  • Dolorosa at Santa Rosa – Market Square
  • Dolorosa at Main – Bexar County Courthouse
  • Market at St. Mary’s
  • Market at Alamo
  • Market at Convention Center way

Fans can utilize rideshare to and from the Alamodome.

The Alamodome’s dedicated rideshare drop-off and pick up lot is located on the West side 281/37 between the Institute of Texan Cultures and the Tower of Americas at the corner of Montana and Tower of Americas Way. The quickest route from the Alamodome to the Rideshare Lot is via the pedestrian walk-way located on the Northwest corner of the North Plaza.

The street address for the Alamodome’s rideshare lot is:
500 Tower of Americas Way
San Antonio, TX  78205

Fans have also found it convenient to walk to either the center of downtown or several blocks north of the Alamodome (i.e. the corner of Crockett and Chestnut) for rideshare pickup and drop off. This popular intersection that allows both fans and drivers to stay out of the main Alamodome traffic street address is located at:

600 E. Crockett
San Antonio, TX  78202

Downtown San Antonio has over 30,000 parking spaces at a variety of parking garages and surface lots where fans can park and get to the game.

Interstate 281/37 will be congested several hours prior to kick off. If you don’t have an Alamodome parking pass, do not try to exit near the facility. The most congested exits are 281/37 at Houston, Commerce and Cesar Chavez.

Instead, seek out walkable lots and use other exits to drive directly to them.

  • If you want to park west of downtown and walk or take VIA’s downtown Primo bus, exit off of Interstate 10/35 at Cesar Chavez, Buena Vista or any exits due west of the Alamodome.
  • If you want to park downtown, exit Interstate 35 at St. Mary’s or Main just north of Downtown.
  • To park north of the Alamodome and west of Interstate 281/37, exit Interstate 35 at N. New Braunfels or Interstate 281 at Nolan. There are several surface lots between Commerce and Nolan on Cherry Street.

All Alamodome parking must be purchased in advance and no passes are sold on game day.  Once the the parking lots are fully committed for 2020, they are available from Bowl ticket buyers who can no longer use their parking passes and have posted them for resale here To see the list of available options, click the car icon in the center of the page.

If you have already purchased a parking pass, click here to view arrival and departure maps. RV’s, buses and oversized vehicles will be required to display a parking permit for each occupied space. A single lot space will not allow admittance for an oversized vehicle.

As mentioned above, routes that avoid Interstate 281/37 especially 3 hours before kickoff is encouraged. For those coming from the North with Lot B or C parking passes, the easiest in ingress is via Nolan and Cherry. Get in the middle lane and take Cherry Street south to your lot.

The Alamodome lots open at 10 a.m. on game day for tailgating with Lot B hosting Tailgate Town. Tailgating is restricted to the space in front or rear of your vehicle. Do not obstruct the driving lane or bring glass containers. A fire extinguisher must accompany each group using a cooking appliance and a person knowledgeable in its operation must attend to cooking appliances when hot. Fire extinguishers are required if an open flame is used.

No solicitation, selling or marketing of any kind is allowed in any Alamodome area parking lot. While alcoholic beverages are permitted, glass containers are not.

Taxis drop-off and pick-up in Lot A on the south side of the Alamodome. Because drop-offs are spread out over several hours, access to taxis and entrance to Lot A is generally good. However, the line waiting for taxis post-game can be long. Fans going downtown are encouraged to take the 10 minute walk or use the Downtown Shuttle that picks-up at the north entrance for only $1.30 per person. Those needing to go outside of downtown should consider going to the Ride Share lot as it has an easy entrance to Interstate 281/37.
