Take a minute to get to know our ticket sales intern Andrew Boggs in the last edition of Meet the Intern!
Q: Where are you from?
A: I hail from Central, South Carolina. It’s pretty much the neighboring town to Clemson. It’s called Central because it’s exactly halfway between Charlotte and Atlanta by train!
Q: What’s your alma mater? What is your degree in?
A: I graduated from Clemson University this summer with a degree in marketing. Fun fact, I played in the band at Clemson!
Q: What will you be responsible for while working at the Valero Alamo Bowl?
A: Primarily, my job is to sell tickets to the game, as well as assist anyone who has any questions or concerns about ticketing. I also work with our Bowl sponsors. If you want tickets please call me at 210-704-6387.
Q: What part of the experience are you most excited about?
A: I’m really looking forward to getting to know the city of San Antonio, especially since I am from a such a small town in (somewhat) rural South Carolina
Q: Where would you like to be in five years?
A: My five year goal is to work in ticketing at the professional sports level or for a major university.
Q: What advice do you have for prospective students who may want to pursue a career in event management?
A: Network! Also, be open to anything. Chances are, if you’re pursuing a job in the sports industry, you won’t wind up exactly where you thought you would be – but that’s OK! I never thought that I’d wind up in San Antonio working with the Valero Alamo Bowl, but I’m so happy that I’m here!
Q: Favorite thing so far about San Antonio?
A: It’s impossible to name just one thing, so I’ll say the food, the people and the history!
