Valero Alamo Bowl Releases “The San Antonio Challenge” To Promote Downtown

The Valero Alamo Bowl announced the release of the “The San Antonio Challenge,” a video highlighting San Antonio’s compact, walkable downtown.

In the Challenge, two tourists race around in a downtown scavenger hunt educating themselves about San Antonio history while also demonstrating the convenience of world-class attractions, restaurants and sporting events right outside their hotel room.

“San Antonio’s amazing downtown is a major reason our city hosts 28 million visitors each year,” said Derrick Fox, President and CEO of the Valero Alamo Bowl. “As we get ready to welcome another 30,000 visiting fans for the 20th Annual Valero Alamo Bowl next week, we wanted to visually demonstrate our thriving, easy to navigate downtown via this video.”

The duo’s route had them going from the airport to their downtown hotel before stops at the Alamo, Main Plaza, River Walk, Tower of Americas and Alamodome all within 60 minutes. The video can be viewed below:

About The Bowl

The 20th Anniversary Valero Alamo Bowl will feature the University of Texas and Oregon State University representing the Big 12 and Pac-12 Conferences, respectively. The game will kick off on Saturday, December 29 at 5:45 p.m. CST.
