2025 Bowl Kicks Off on December 30

The 2025 Valero Alamo Bowl will be played on Tuesday, December 30 at 8:00 p.m. CT at the Alamodome and will be televised on ESPN.

This marks the Bowl’s first December 30 game since 2013, when a crowd of 65,918 fans—the second-largest in Valero Alamo Bowl history—watched #10 Oregon, led by 2014 Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota, defeat Texas in Mack Brown’s final game as Longhorns head coach.

Tickets for the 2025 Valero Alamo Bowl will go on sale this summer, but interested buyers can join the Priority Wait List here. The first of 15 events on the Valero Alamo Bowl’s 2025 calendar is the PNC Pigskin Preview, a college football kick off luncheon set for Wednesday, August 27 at the Alamodome.

“A December 30 kickoff gives student-athletes and fans the chance to enjoy Christmas at home before heading to San Antonio for an unforgettable Bowl Week,” said John Eadie, 2025 Valero Alamo Bowl Chair. “After a record-setting year in 2024, we’re excited to again deliver a first-class experience for our teams, fans, partners, and the San Antonio community.”

The 2024 Valero Alamo Bowl, featuring #17 BYU and #23 Colorado, drew a capacity crowd of 64,261 and delivered 8 million viewers, setting an all-time event viewership record. It is also ranked as the most-watched non-CFP/New Year’s Six Bowl since the 2019-20 Citrus Bowl between Michigan and Alabama. The game generated $59 million in total economic impact for San Antonio, the second highest in the Bowl’s history.
