Valero Alamo Bowl Student-Athlete High School Scholarship

The Valero Alamo Bowl’s scholarship program began in 2000 with 25 San Antonio high school students splitting $50,000 in scholarships.

That total has grown significantly along with the success of our event.

Last year, the Valero Alamo Bowl awarded over $1 million that was split between 135+ San Antonio high school and college students making the Bowl the number one in local scholarship giving among all bowl games.

That total should again be equaled this season through the Bowl’s college and high school programs.

Winners from each San Antonio university will be chosen next summer to split $440,000, while the high school application process is open right now.

The Valero Alamo Bowl has pledged to award at least one student from 70 different San Antonio area public and well-established private schools a $7,500 scholarship. These scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, teacher recommendations, financial need, involvement in extracurricular activities and varsity sports as well as honors received and a personal narrative.

The deadline to submit applications for the current school year is November 1st.
